Star Wars Tour

Visit the beautiful locations from the Star Wars saga

Star Wars: The Force Awakens VII sent the global box-office into hyperdrive. Since 1977, the record-breaking movie franchise has travelled through more than a few galaxies. For Episode VII the cast and crew jetted into a little town called Portmagee, County Kerry, on Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way.

Star Wars set location Tours

Set Locations:-

  • Skellig Islands
  • Portmagee Dingle Sybil Head County Kerry
  • Loop Head County Clare
  • Inishowen Peninsula County Donegal
  • Crookhaven Mizen Head County Cork

Rising improbably from the Atlantic, one of the highlights of Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way, Skellig Michael has attracted both admirers and those seeking solitude for centuries. It was on this jagged rock that 6th century monks carved hundreds of stone steps to the summit, where they established an isolated monastery.

Skellig Michael and neighbouring Little Skellig have featured in ancient Irish legends and were even visited by Vikings. But it wasn't until 2014 that these remote peaks welcomed their strangest visitor yet one of the biggest movie-making phenomena in history.

Portmagee is a pretty village, synonymous with the type of delights you'll find along Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way. But it's not where you would have expected to find one of the world's biggest film production crews.
In 2014, though, drawn by the mystical beauty of Skellig Michael, Star Wars: The Force Awakens came to town

In May of 2016, scenes from the upcoming film "The last Jedi" were shot at an undisclosed location in Malin Head, Inishowen, Ireland's Most Northerly Point. Many moments were captured during the time spent by cast and crew in Inishowen that have had a lasting impression on both locals, visitors and fans of the franchise. Star Wars cast and crew while in Inishowen experienced culture, breathtaking scenery and traditional music. During filming, Inishowen was looking its best in the sunshine and brimming with excited locals and visitors trying to catch a glimpse of the set.

A piece of West Cork will be forever be in a galaxy far, far away after beautiful Brow Head near Crookhaven became the latest location for the Star Wars movie.
